An attack of rare violence. Two people were sentenced this Thursday, May 8 for the murder of an aboriginal schoolboy of the 15 years, who died of their wounds in the skull in October 2022, reports the BBC.
The young Cassius Turvey was brutally attacked in October 2022, in the suburbs of Perth by several men. The group threw to the ground and hit Cassius’s head at least twice with a short metal post, which caused cerebral hemorrhage, according to prosecutors.
If four people were accused, only two men were convicted: Jack Steven James Bearley, 24, and Brodie Lee Palmer, 29, after a trial that lasted 12 weeks.
The group of attackers was “looking for children”
In the hospital for several days, one of the culprits, Jack Steven James Bearley Bearley was filmed in the process of boasting of having defeated the child.
“He was lying in the field and hit him with a tram bar that learned his lesson,” he said during a phone call during the trial.
According to the prosecutors, the group of attackers was “looking for children” because someone had damaged the windows of one of the convicted, Jack Steven James Bearley.
However, there are no indications that Cassius was involved in damaging the guilty car windows. The young man was simply part of a large number of children who faced this group of men.
Your prayer is not yet known
The jury finally declared that the two men were responsible for the murder and guilty of involuntary homicide. Regarding the required sentence, the two murderers must return to the Court on June 26 at the bar.
The mother of the young school, Mechelle Turvey, especially wanted to thank the witnesses of the trial, most of whom were “young children marked for life.”
“I would like to thank all Australia, the people who know us, for their love and support,” he added. “It was fun. He liked to pose,” Mechelle Turvey told the BBC, showing photos of Cassius.
Shortly after his murder in 2022, several nights in honor of Cassius had taken place in the United States and New Zealand.
