“‘It is a massacre field’: Tsahal’s soldiers were ordered to firing disarmed Gazaouis delibe -in -unarmed that they expect humanitarian aid.” In an article published this Friday, June 27, the largest Israeli newspaper Haaretz cites several soldiers, under the cover of anonymity, claiming to have received orders from their commanders to shoot crowds agglutinated near the aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip to disperse them, even when they represented any threat.
An investigation that is part of a context of multiplication of dramas outside the distribution of humanitarian aid, since it has sometimes killed by dozens since the end of May. The same day of the publication of the article, the Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip informed 62 people killed, including ten near a distribution center. The previous day, 65 people were killed, including seven expected humanitarian aid.
A “food distribution simulation produced by massacres to the chain”
At the beginning of March, Israel had imposed a humanitarian blockade in the Palestinian territory that led to a very serious shortage of food, drugs and other basic needs. The blockade only relaxed at the end of May, the date on which the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) began its distributions. This base, with dark funds and supported by the United States and Israel, uses armed hired workers to guarantee the safety of their centers.
Since its implementation, NGOs on the field have denounced abuse, such as doctors without borders (MSF) who requested their dismantling on Friday, calling it “simulation of food distribution that produces massacres to the chain.”
Every day, MSF’s medical teams claim to receive people who have been killed or injured while trying to obtain food in one of the sites, and discovered, on the distributions, a strong increase in the wounds by the ball.
“The four distribution sites, all located in areas completely controlled by the Israeli forces after the inhabitants have moved by force, are the size of a football field and are surrounded by observation poles, ground embankments and spikes wire. Its fenced entrance allows an access point,” explains the Zabalgageaskoa plane, the MSF emergency coordinator.
“If people arrive too early and approach the control points, shoot them. If they arrive on time, but there are too many people and jump on the tracks and the barbed wire, they are shot and if they are late, they should not be there because it is an evacuated area, they are shot,” denounces.
Israel denounces “malicious lies designed for Dirty Tsahal”
This complaint of the “militarized aid distribution system that kills people” is shared by the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres. “People are only murdered while trying to feed their families and themselves. Going for food should never be a death sentence,” he told the press in New York, without citing the name of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Since the GHF began its operations in the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Health of the Hamas Government has reported almost 550 people killed and more than 4,000 wounds in immense lines to reach the humanitarian aid distribution centers.
After the publication of Haaretz’s article, the Israeli government has strongly denied the charges of the daily. “The state of Israel categorically rejects the hateful accusations of ritual murder published in Haaretz magazine,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in a joint statement published with his Minister of Defense Israel Katz.
“These are malicious lies designed for Dirty Tsahal, the most legal army in the world,” added the text, referring to the Hebrew acronym for Israel’s defense forces.
As for the words of Antonio Guterres, Israel said that the UN “aligns Hamas, which also tries to sabotage the humanitarian operations of the GHF”, ensuring that the Israeli army “never points to civilians.”
