The party of Brazil’s current president, Jair Bolsonaro, on Tuesday asked election authorities to scrap some of the ballot boxes used in the October 30 presidential election.
“Unfortunately, we found an invalid number in these ballot boxes”which indicates a “very strong indication of urn malfunction” and “creates uncertainty in the data of these ballot boxes”said engineer Carlos Rocha, responsible for checking the Liberal Party (PL) report.
In a statement to the media, without the right to ask questions, in Brasília, the official also said that in his report “it was discovered that there were ballot boxes that crashed and were switched off and on again in the same voting period”.
This represents, he said, “vote secrecy violation”🇧🇷
In a contradictory act, the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, along with the auditors, said that this report does not reflect the party’s views.
