War in Ukraine: Russia says preparations for Trump-Putin summit “continue”

Donald Trump postponed this Tuesday, October 21, his meeting with Vladimir Putin that should have taken place in Budapest to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine, explaining that he did not want talks “in vain.” Moscow said Wednesday that preparations “continue.”

Russia affirmed this Wednesday, October 22, that preparations for the meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump “continue”, despite the apparent announcement the day before by the American leader of an indefinite postponement of this meeting.

“We affirm that preparations for the summit continue,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, quoted by the state news agency TASS.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov repeated on Wednesday that “no deadlines have been set.”
