Anderson Torres, former Justice Minister of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, was arrested this Saturday at the Brasilia airport as part of the investigation into the looting of national institutions on January 8 in the capital, local media reported.
The former minister, suspected of colluding with the rioters, was detained as he was flying back from the United States to appear in court. He claims his innocence.
Several relatives of the ultra-right ex-president have already been implicated in the acts of violence that occurred at the home of the head of state. Jair Bolsonaro himself is now himself a direct target of justice since the Supreme Court announced on Friday to include the former president in the investigation aimed at discovering the possible instigators of the violence on January 8.
