China on Thursday condemned the US president for what it called “extremely irresponsible” remarks. Joe Biden said his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, faced “enormous problems.”

In an interview with “PBS NewsHour”Biden said China has limited ability to take on the United States due to the need to protect international trade, and that Xi is in an “unenviable” position.
“Can you think of any other world leaders who would trade places with Xi Jinping? I can’t think of any,” Biden said. “This man has huge problems,” he added.
