Adhara Pérez Sánchez is a child prodigy, with an IQ of 162 – higher than that of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. She grew up in a poor neighborhood and was bullied at school for being autistic, leading her to change class locations three times and isolate herself. She was diagnosed with a developmental disability at the age of three after her speech had significantly deteriorated.
“The teachers weren’t very empathetic and she started shutting herself out, she didn’t want to play with her classmates, she felt strange, different,” Nayeli Sánchez, Adhara’s mother, told Marie Claire Mexico.
The parents soon discovered the gift of their daughter, who learned mathematics independently at a very early age. She underwent therapy and was sent to the Talent Care Center, a school for gifted children, where her high IQ was confirmed.
“I want to go into space and colonize Mars,” said little Adhara. “I can see myself at NASA, it’s worth a try,” the prodigy added.
