Inflation: six sites and apps to compare prices

Various online sites and apps allow you to compare prices across different stores and supermarkets, to help consumers find the right product at the best price.

Inflation continues to hit the French, especially when it comes to shopping. According to INSEE in February, the increase in prices of food products in one year reached 14.5%. Food, but also household appliances, fashion or leisure: in an attempt to limit the price of your shopping basket, Tech&Co presents six online price comparators to help you find the cheapest product between different stores.

Be careful, these sites and applications cannot always keep up with the frenetic pace of price changes in supermarkets, so they are not infallible.

UFC-What to choose

On its website, UFC-Que Choisir offers a interactive map of drive-thru supermarkets the cheapest. The association invites consumers to fill in their situation (single, couple or family), their town or zip code and the radius around which they want to compare prices. The interactive map then allows, for each withdrawal point, to visualize the average amount of the average basket, as well as an annotation of the cost in each department (groceries, dairy, meat, etc.), in the form of stars.

LeBonDrive

On its site, LeBonDrive facilitates competition between partner stores. You just have to specify your zip code and click on the different brands offered on the map to then compare them according to your purchases. You can then collect your purchases.

· Ideal

Launched in 2000 in Germany, the Idealo app is an independent, neutral and transparent price comparison site that aims to inform users about the best prices. In the application or online, it is possible to compare the prices of the same product in several stores, either by scanning its barcode or in the search bar. At idealo.fr, consumers can compare more than 170 million offers offered by more than 14,000 online stores, according to Idealo.

the price spy

Another price comparator present in the form of an application and online: PriceSpy. Created in 2002 in Sweden, the platform says it has developed “one of the most comprehensive filters in the world” to help consumers buy the right product at the best price. More than 1000 sites are referenced there. Appliances, home, garden… PriceSpy claims a wide variety of items and recommends those that generate the most clicks at the top of the page.

buy cheaper

Launched in 2010, Achat Less Cher claims to be a “made in France” price comparison tool. The site, available on Android and IOS, allows you to find the site that offers the best price on the Internet from its barcode scanner. It is also possible to compare an article from a link. An alert is finally available to report price drops on a product. Cheaper Purchase says it has 100 million offers and more than 2,500 partner merchants.

kelkoo

Also created in France, the Kelkoo site allows, as its slogan indicates, “search, compare, save” on many items. Its fluid interface allows you to find the product that best suits you by searching by category: fashion, health, leisure, etc. Launched in 1999, it is one of the first comparators to emerge.
